We understand that to build a diverse and inclusive culture requires increasing self-awareness, understanding and the development of inclusive behaviours and skills. Unconscious bias can act as a barrier to inclusion. Building awareness and capability through creating personal insight to manage our biases is a key element in the enablement of an inclusive culture. Some view unconscious bias training as a one-off action, we don’t. We know that to truly embrace and understand the causes and effects of bias on our decision making, we must look further from understanding what it is, to actually recognising it within ourselves.
